CONVERSATIONS
IN DESIGN HISTORIES

OUR VISION:
To facilitate design learning communities.

OUR MISSION:
To promote design history and its positive impact on design practice and contemporary life.

The Society of Design Arts (SoDA) presents programs to further attendees' knowledge of the histories of design arts including graphic design, illustration, architecture, book arts, and photography. Programs are free and open to anyone.

SoDA consists of a planning committee that meets quarterly to discuss future programs. Originally Baltimore-based and formerly known as Society for History and Graphics (SHAG), the all-volunteer group has been active since 2007 providing more than 100 programs that have explored diverse subjects. Check out some of our past programs here.

We invite volunteers to help plan, research, and present programs, and expand our connection to the design/arts community. To that end, we are coordinating events and activities with local colleges and universities as well as the AIGA, and other design organizations.
